I have created a VPN between a win 2k server and a linux server running SME server , I am havin a problem seeing the network shares over the VPN, it has been recomended to me that I might need to install samba on the linux box as the sevrver and a Samba client on the win2k server, I am testing this via a win2k server to linux VPN but will be getting transferred client wise to a comp Running XP home, any suggestions, are greatly appreciated,

1 how to configure Samba on the Linux Box as the Samba server and XP home or win 2K server as samba Clients or any other possible solution

I don't think that's the problem. You need to forward the SMB traffic over your VPN link.
