I'm trying to build a VPN tunnel between 2 Netscreen one in NAT mode and the other in Transparent mode. I've add the two static routes in the Netscreen with transparent mode as the netscreen knowledge base instructed, and configured both netscreens but still cannot get the VPN to work. I'm able to built the VPN tunnel when both of the netscreen is in NAT mode. Anyone have ideas?? Thanks.

Hey,

I would debug the L2(transparent) Netscreen using:

set ffilter src-ip x.x.x.x (ip of remote Netscreen)
set ffilter src-ip x.x.x.x (ip of remote test machine)
debug flow basic
clear db
<test - ping, etc...>
undebug all
get db str

Check to see if the debug gives you more info. If you want, paste the contents here and xx out IP info (sensitive). Hope you find this helpful.

Rgds,

John
