Greetings Gentlemen, ( Any Ladies )?

How do you set the VPN access code for an extension? I have a 9620L telephone on a 500 V1 with 8.1 software I would like to use as a VPN extension but I am at a lose as to what the access code is or where to configure the code. Can you help me, please?

Thank You,
Quaz

What are you trying to access? Isn't the normal code CRAFT to get into the phone to edit the settings?

Whos,

Craft doesn't do it. The documentation suggests that the code is created by the administrator but I have not found where to enter the code.

When the phone is rebooting, you should have a point to hit the * key to get into programming. When typing in CRAFT then #. That doesn't work?

@VoIP Numpty is onto something with the PROCPSWD. I've had to dabble with those settings once before and you reset the password in one of the .txt documents in the IPO itself. Hopefully you don't have to get that far.

It is located in the 46xxsettings.txt file within the IP Office. To get to it, Go to File > Advanced Settings > Embedded File Management and you should be able to find the file there and extract it, redo the password if it's wrong, and shove the file back into the IP Office.

Reboot the phone and it should grab the new firmware to get the phone working again.

You'd better all read the docs or do something usefull instead(yes it is not very nice and sarcastic but that is the mood i am in right now).

The VPN settings are not visible using the local admin configuration unless the VPN functionality is enabled in the 46xxsettings file.
The parameter to set is named "NVVPNMODE" and the value is 0 by default, to enable the build in VPN functionality set it to 1.

It is all documented in the "96x1_H323_Admin_6.6.5_26Mar18.pdf" document, google it and read it.
