I am adding software etc for a friend's computer. It is a packard bell (who do not have the best web site in the world for suppport for older machines) The graphics is intergrated and according to the motherboard info, it is a voodoo3-2000 8mb graphics card.

The problem I am having is it will not allow a resolution display of more than 480x600, unless I uninstall the monitor driver. (standard generic supplied with win 2000). I can then up the resolution to 800x600. Everything then works fine.....untill I shutdown. When I restart it goes back to 480x600 and I have to uninstall the monitor drivers again.

Anyone had this before and found a solution?

Eventually found the problem to be the standard monitor driver installed by windows. When I deleted the driver and restarted the machine I could increase the resolution to 800x600. I later found and installed the correct driver for the monitor and it worked fine.
Hope this helps someone, apparently it is a known fault with the Voodoo3-2000
