Hi people.

I'm having a problem with watching movies on my pc. For some reason the volume is very low, and even on max, I can bearly hear anything. It happens when watching some dvds, or avi files.

However, its not all dvds or avis. Some files work perfectly fine, its just that others don't!

Any ideas on how I may be able to sort this out?

Thank you in advance for your help. Much appreciated.

How do those DVD's or AVI's go on some other computer?
Are they commercially made DVD's or are they your own creations? Is there any differences between those AVI files that have proper sound and those that don't? For example were they download from the Net, perhaps from a single site, were they copied from another machine?

Make sure that Digital Audio is checked on the sound properties. Also, there is a cable that is supposed to connect the dvd to the audio card. It's very thin. Make sure that it's present on the correct drive.
