I have a volume that shows up when a q libvol is issued however the tape is not physically in the library.

The tape label has a scratch across it so therefore cannot be checked in.

Would and audit resolve this problem ?

I have tried putting it in the library manually but due to the above error the tape is rejected and put into the hopper.

Ideas ???

An audit will work, however make sure all the drives are empty. Do an audit with checklabel=barcode. If there is a scratch on the label you will probably want to replace the label. Alternatively you can do a checkout libvol remove=no. That should get it out of the libvol listing.
