My XP Developers' book ain't helping on this!

I have two linked Excel workbooks. Is it possible to make it that the link references between workbooks will update if the two files are moved to a different folder? I want to be able to make the 'package' workable on a stand alone floppy or to be able to be loaded onto the hard drive at (virtually) any location.

TIA

Chris

If the 2 workbooks are in the same folder, you don't
need a folder name as part of the reference to the
other workbook. For example

=[wb1.xls]sheet1!a1

=[wb2.xls]sheet1!b1

are all you need if wb1 and wb2 are in the same folder.

Thanks mikevh - I shall try that then. I think I had been approaching it from a slightly wrong direction and mucked up.

Sorry about the delayed response. I had a major system failure (followed by a sense of humour failure!) but am back on again.

MegaThanks
