I have an Avaya 403 on 3.2.53, along with the usual digital and analog sets, we have 8 VoIP sets (5620,21's) for the last month, about once a week all the VoIP sets will only get 1 way audio, the sets are still registered (according to monitor), you can call them and they can call out, but only 1 way voice, the only fix is to reboot the IPO, we have replaced the VCM and the issue still happens, we have set all VoIP extensions to NO Direct Media, the IPO, VM server and VoIP sets are all on the same network. The configuration had worked without issue for several years. Any ideas?

Has anything changed on the network at all, do monitor traces show anything unusual when it happens? :-)

amriddle01:

Monitor doesn't show anything unsual (that I can tell), the customer hasn't admitted to any network changes (we don't maintain the network), and there seems to be no pattern, although it is usually a Thursday, but it has happened on other days like this morning, they usually reboot before we can do any testing as the phones that stop working are critical.

Well if they have made "Stealth" newtork changes get them to ensure that the port they are connecting the IPO to is fixed at 100 half duplex not full, consider doing a straight unit swap out, the 403 may be on it's way out and if you can't test your options are limited :-)
