Have 2 systems linked via a 2Mbps MPLS link with QoS set on

Speech path in 1 direction is excellent

Remote user reports conversation fading in and out all the time

Network bandwidth not being used a great deal at the moment so plenty of capacity.

VOIP lines set up exactly the same as numerous other clients .

Using G729a codec.

Both systems runing on latest 2.1 (77), although this problem was happening prior to the upgrade.

I have a VoIP issue as well. A 403 IPO IP trunked to an S8710. Quality is good but my latency avarage is around 500ms. Calls will drop because of this (according to Monitor). When I ping the IPO, my average is 33ms.
Has anyone seen this before?

Avaya documentation states any turnaround delay exceeding 150ms will lead to voice quality and availability problems.

I have experianced this first hand over MPLS and Lease Line connections.

If you cannot provide data path witihin these limits you will have problems an a very unhappy user
