Voip Delay

Having trouble with initial delay with remote sites.

All remote sites are connected via VPN which is all connected and established, if i try to phone a remote extension from the main site there i an initial delay of about 5 secounds, then the speech is fine with no delay at all, the only delay is the initial connection it seems.

Is there something that i need to do on the bcm end?

We are using draytek and netgear routers, and both perform the same way.
