I have multivantage r11 on our switch. I know I need a TN2302 Media Processor and CLAN. I have 2 CLAN boards, one for intuity and one I admin and CDR through. My question is we have 5 voip RTU's and we want to experiment with them. Do I need to purchase another CLAN? Or can I use either of the ones I currently have. Is there any other items I will need to purchase and how many IP Phones can a TN2302 handle? Any info is very much appreciated. I am VOIP challenged. Thanks to all.

You don't need a dedicated Clan for Audix. I would get a small Linksys switch and connect them through that. no cross over cable needed. That way the other resources such as CDR, VoIP and ASA can be used on one Clan. So you will only need a Medpro. If you want to experiment, see if they will do it on a trial basis. I have the same release and have found that is is a nice feature for traveling execs, remote offices and IP trunking. The IP soft phones are easy to install and have a low learning curve. (Mostly just getting use to talking on your pc) The IP phones are great aswell for saving on cable cost. You will always need digital/analog backups for faxing but all and all it is pretty solid right out of the box. I always worried about data network failures, but I now understand that I can still get to the PSTN even if my network goes down...

In the future everything will work...
