Hey guys,

just wondering if someone might be able to help with this problem.....

IP 500 5.0.22
voicemail pro
voicemail pro server is running on server 2003

all is working great except for voicemail to email. i know this is a network/IT problem as the voicemail to email was working before they switched email servers.

i have all the server information, but the IT person said that the voicemail pro does not have the options needed to connect to the email server? anyways, i have the options which i will list. just wondering if someone has run into this?

smtp server: emailserver.com
port:2525
smtp authentication: requires authentication
smtp secure connections: TLS (if TLS is not available use SSL)........this is the option they said we dont have?????

any help would be great!

I am not sure the VM can do the TLS auth. in cases like this i usually load the windows SMTP server on the VM and use that to relay out to the server that needs TLS> then have the VM point to the local windows server.

thanks for the suggestion. i will give that a try and let you know what happens.

thanks again!

kwing,

sorry....forgot to ask.....

is the windows smtp server hard to install and set up?

Would it be worth looking at the MAPI option ?

This should be shown in the help file and you can use the free Outlook Express or Window Mail as client, although you do need to make sure that this is running all the time.

ipohead has a good idea too with MAPI. i dont use it much because the client always needs to be open but it works. yes the windows SMTP is very easy to set up. there are tons of Docs on here and also on Google for it.

From what I've see IP Office only seems to have CRAM MD5 authentication and most external SMTP servers seem to want TLS or SSL nowadays.
