Hey everyone-

I would like to know what voicemail system you would recommend that I use for my house. I have a Norstar 824, DR5 software, and I just need a small voicemail system, not many bells & whistles. If I buy used, that would be great so I could minimize costs. Would a StarTalk Mini or Flash do the trick for what I need? I would like to get rid of AT&T/BellSouth Voicemail and save the extra few dollars a month.

Thanks.

I use a Startalk Mini. The spinning hardrive and it's noise are the only downside.

That wouldn't be too bad, however... it'll be in the attic with the other head-end equipment and the ethernet switch.

Perfect. It only has 1 Greeting Table, will pass CLID, but no Vmail Interrupt.

you know...call pilot 100 is so inexpensive nowadays. Why do anything less to save a few hundred bucks? Then you can tie into your network and have unified messaging, etc... that is standard on the vonages, etc...

If you are a vendor, why are you even bothering with the older stuff.

Why would you have put your equipment in an attic???

Nortel is only part of what I sell/install. I only buy as I need it, which is not all of the time.

My attic area for this is actually partially built-out and climate controlled since it has attic air supply ducts and attic returns. The attic is actually off of the second floor of the house. Nothing too difficult to access. Upper attic and attic over the addition is harder to get to.

Cost, cost, cost... I will sell/install the nice stuff to my clients and use the older for myself. Plus, gives me more background to assist others.
