I have a customer that has around 15 different auto attendants for 15 different "companies". They have 800 numbers for each company, with the same people answering phones for all the companies, that goes through the companies AA and tags the call when transferred so they know how to answer the call. All of this works just fine as expected.
This is what he is hoping to do (I cant think of a good way of doing it).
Customer calls into Company B and selects sales but ends up really being a service call. When the sales person transfers the call to service the call is still showing that they selected sales. So they want to change the tag during the transfer. The only way I could think of doing this was to have a module with a transfer to the correct destination that changes the tag. The issue is say 6 options for 15 auto attendants means they would need 90 modules and 90 shortcodes to accomplish this which obviously would be complicated for the people answering the phone. I told him already the only way I could think of doing it would be very complex and not sure there is a good way to make it easy.
Can anyone think of a simple way (simple for users I don't mind the programming) to accomplish this?
The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.
