Can someone help me please. A customer has 6 channels of ISDN and all incoming calls are recorded and go through an Auto Attendeant. How many voicemail ports do they need? Does a call being recorded through an AA use 2 ports simultaniously? When does the AA drop the port?

when a call is being recorded it requires a port. when a call is in any kind of call flow then it also requires a port. i would recommend atleast 12 but 16 would be better depening on who may users

with only 6 channels of ISDN there would be little point in having more than 8 ports (Ports have to be added in 4's)
uless they intend to record every call I would personaly stick with just 4 for a site that is as small as this one.

It depends on the number of possible simultanous calls coming in.
If you have 6 channels and all call MUST be recorded AND all calls go through the AA then you need 12 ports for VM Pro.
IF there are never more then 4 lines busy at the same time then 8 ports will do unless external calls must be recorded, then you need 10 ports.
A basic VM Pro license gives you four ports and you can buy addiditions license for 2, 4,8 or 16 additional ports.
