The voicemail pro on this system has intermittently stopped and then eventually restarted on its own 3 times since first installed approx 5 months ago. The duration of time the voicemail was down was somewhere between 15 - 30 mins. Anyone else experience this problem? Coincidentally, this is the same voicemail pro that was garbled and distorted the day after first install and problem was fixed with a reset.

What is the best way/steps to approach troubleshooting this? Appreciate the feedback.

Yes,yes,yes

Stopped every other day for an hour

Replaced it and the new one done the same thing.

Put in a server PC and no problems at all

You could retrieve the logs and look for the reason. Set logging for VM Pro to verbose.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

This has nothing to do with the UCM so giving advise to swap it for a PC is the wrong one and an expensive one!!!

IPOFFICE-37139 VMPro Service on UCM Stops several times per day 8.0.46 8.0 4Q 2012 Release

It is a bug already fixed in the latest two 8.0 releases.
So upgrade both the IPO and UCM and you will be fine.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

We upgrade the iPod to 8.0.46 and ucm to latest version and it still stopped .

We then upgraded to 8.0.51 and ucm to latest version with the same problem.

As soon as we used a PC all worked and no issues.

I am fairly sure they suffer SSD corruption, it's very common :)

Forgive my ignorance but what is SSD corruption?

Not to sure what you mean by that.[ponder]

Solid State Drive, using flash memory as a hard drive, loads of pc gamers (and geeky folk) swapped their hard drives for SDD and they quickly gained a reputation for crashing and corrupting etc ending in total loss of all data. Avaya used them for the zero moving parts thing but then had too add a fan anyway as they over heated :)

It all depends on which controller is used.
I have 3 Intel SSD drives an none of them failed.
One is already running fine for 3 years already.
Services stopping has nothing to do with the SSD.

You should have upgraded to the Q4 release as this problem is "found" (Avaya admitted it in this release) and fixed with Q4 release.

Hi tlpeter

thanks for the advice but we did upgrade to this release in nov2012 tips 148
and we still had the same problem.

Thats why we changed to a PC version with same updates.
