Preferred Edition, Voicemail Pro 9.0.3 running on MS Virtual Server 2012, voicemail to email set up question.
For outgoing email the customer is using one of the large local internet service providers for their outgoing email (SMTP) and a different provider for incoming (POP) emails. This set up would then be an External SMTP Sender and the address used for that is smtp.nameofispprovider.net. Port default setting is 25 but I know this setting can change. Will entering smtp.nameofispprovder.net as the setting for the SMTP Sender on Voicemail Pro be sufficient for the IP Office to transmit a voicemail message (via a .wav file) to the customer's email address as specified under User Settings for each User on the system ?
I know you can alternately use MAPI but from what I've read this is less straightforward and would require a MAPI client on the same server as the Voicemail Pro server. This method definitely seems to have more requirements and take several more steps to accomplish.
Are there any licensing requirements for this feature or is it system wide ? I did not see anything on this under licenses in the manual.
I haven't set this feature up before and don't want to overlook any limitations or capabilities. Any insight is appreciated.
