I am running a VMPRO server on CetOS. For some reason the server is now at full capacity and messages aren't being recorded on anyone mailboxes. If I look in VMWare I can see that it now is taking up the whole disk. When I look in the Voicemail client I don't see any mailboxes that are full. How can I get to the VM Server and delete files that are filling up the server. The only thing I think may be causing this is that I turned on the Backup functionality and it has been making Weekly backups, including voicemails. How do I delete those backups from the VM server. Please help

Thanks,
Tom

Tom, we need more information.
Is the VMPro running on the Linux server that Avaya provides?
What version is it?
I have seen a similar issue in the field trials.
I only cannot remember what files where causing it.
I can remember that it where two files both 35Gb of size while the disk was 70Gb.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Yes this is the the Linux server that Avaya provides. So as of now no one can leave messages. The version we are on is version 6.1.17.00 and the Operating System Linux with a OS Version of 2.6.18-194.el5.

Thanks,
Tom

Use a SSH client and login on to it and copy the folder /opt/voicemail pro so that you have a backup.
Then i think your only solution is a reinstall.

What is the best way to SSH to the Voicemail server. I would need specific steps to complete this.

Three options:
1 increase the disk with vmware utilities
2 setup a proper scheme for deleting old and unread messages and make backups to a USB drive so you can maintain the drive on a windows machine.
3 take a linux course and login with SSH and delete the old backup files manually.

General: Avaya does not support a Linux VM Pro on a virtual machine and that is not without a reason.

If it ain't dutch it ain't much
