hey guys,

It´s been a while since last time I use VMPro.

How can I open a .vmp file ? from a customer in my PC.

Cheers,

try notepad,
but it wont do you much good it is not the correct file to be changing

Computers are like Air conditioners:-
Both stop working when you open Windows

Why do you want to do that?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Use VM Pro Client, that's what it's for, looking at raw files will not make any sense :)

Why not opening the mdb file?

Its a VMP file. name it Root.VMP, put it in your VM directory of a voicemail server, open up the client...it should see it.

I have a idea that the mdb is corrupted and he has no backup :)

To look at someone else's modules have them export using the client then you import using the client, or just connect remotely using the client via VPN or ISDN dial in etc :)

Using the root.vmp file was the Network Alchemy way of doing things with the VM Pro Client. Not anymore!!!!!

The file still exists and I believe it is what the VM Pro service actually uses as it's running config, but it's no good at all to the VM Pro Client. That now uses the .mdb's

For example, if your VM Pro client can't see the call flows, they will still be in the root.vmp. This can then be used as a very long winded refernce point to rebuild!

Jamie, i tried finding it on the R8 vmpro but it is not there.
There is a file called "ViewAsText" which is a text file containing the VMPro configuration.
