VM Pro restarts every two hours

I have had an issue with VM Pro restarting every two hours after upgrading to 4.0(14) and now I have upgraded to 4.0(27) and the issue has not gone away.

I am setup to receive SMTP messages whenever the VM Pro server has a critical event and during the night hours when activity is minimal or nil, the VM Pro server service stops and starts regularly every two hours - right to the minute.

I get e-mail messages:

The Voicemail server is down

followed immediatley by

The Voicemail server is now operational

It occurs every two hours and when it does occur there are two stops and two starts one minite apart.

Last night it was at 12:40 AM, 2:40 AM, and 4:40 AM

It seems to only be occuring when traffic is non-existent.

Does anyone know why this is happening and if it is something for which I should be concerned? On 4.0(14) we had a problem where auto attendant stopped working every now and then - I loaded 4.0 (27) from sratch (not an upgrade) The auto attendant problem has not occurred since the upgrade but these messages continue.

Thanks!

vmpro runs for 2 hours when the license is non existent or invalid. this is definetly a license scenario, check the settings.

If it shows valid and you are using Pro edition 500 then run the vmpro debugger, it will give you license stats and fails.

Has someone set a scheduled task to restart your voicemail every 2 hours so they don't have to buy a license!!!!!!

The strange thing is that this only happens at night when there is no activity in VM Pro - not during the day when there is constant activity.

I like the idea of resatarting VM Pro every two hours (-:) but we do have valid licenses and no restart program.

Our license for the initial VoiceMail Pro (4 ports) has 'instances' of '255' - is this correct? Other Voicemail licenses have the number of available ports in instances. For example 'Additional Voicemail Pro (ports)' has 16 or 4.

All licenses indicate that they are valid

The strange thing is why does this only happen during the middle of the night and not during the day also??

don't know myself but I wonder if there is a database reconcile time in vmpro?

PG, ahemm, copy and paste special required...

check the Event Log. Is the Service stopping and is set to restart automatically???

Check the power settings of the PC also. Is it going to sleep and waking up again?

What sort of Dongle do you use?

There an extra file you have to run when using a Feature Key Server as License-server in Windows Vista see technical bulletin 90.

greetzzz...Bas
