I am having a heck of a time here. Is there a clear concise document somewhere that shows all of the steps for having WAV files emailed when a message is left?

I am running VMPRO 4.2 on XP Pro. I can do it via Outlook 2007, Outlook Express, or none at all.. at this point, I dont care.. :)

Currently I de-installed VM Pro and reinstalled under a new account called voicemail, with admin privs, setup outlook 2007 with an account, and created an address book entry. Everything "seemed" to setup OK, but it still did not work. SMTP is tested, and working, the account works with test messages, etc.. and I did actually get a message emailed.. once.. just once.. and it never worked again.

I have seem some documentation inconsistancies around the web in regards to MAPI or SMTP with outlook, service accounts, etc..

Actually - I think I just fixed it by putting the "FROM" email address in the first tab in control panel.. make sense? So I dont even need outlook running I dont think if I am just using SMTP?

you did it.
it is a simple SMTP forward, but be careful should you use the forwarding instead of the copy feature, messages sent from VM Pro with the SMTP server down or unavailable in any shape will result in lost messages.
