The Virtual Machine Network Driver does not install properly on my XP system. I ran the install from:
No errors come up, but the installation screen closes abruptly, and the msiexec.exe process stays open.
I check my services under network properties, but the Virtual Machine Network Driver does not show up. Interestingly enough, when I manually try to add a service, I can see the Virtual Machine Network Driver, but when I select it, I get the error that the file has been marked for deletion.
I ran the installer to a log and there are some strange error messages such as:
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2228"
"DEBUG: Error 2874: Changing the text font to VerdanaBold13 failed
The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2874. The arguments are: VerdanaBold13"
What would fonts have to do with setting up a virtual network connection???
Any ideas? I've alredy tried disabling my AVG/MS Antispyware, but to no avail. And I have found nothing useful from MS knowledge base (bit of an oxymoron there).
