Hi everybody,
I have a question related created VLAN. I currently manage flat switched network with around 100 users. The company started expanding and purchased some additional area in the building where we are located. We used to have a quite simple network configuration: one catalyst 3548 switch (located in dabacenter) and catalyst 5505 switch. All of the company servers are connected to 3548 and the users PCs are connected to a 5505. There is a 1Gb fiber connection between the two switches.
Now I have 4 additional switches: two 5505s, one 5509, and one 4908 (layer 3) switch.
I decided to create three VLANs to separate departments. I currently have DHCP running on two Domain controllers Windows 2003 servers.
My question is how can I create VLANs and make sure that the PCs would be able to get IPs from DHCP server I currently have. I run DHCP with 10.10.x.x (class C) private ips addresses.
I do not have any experience setting something up like that. Any explanations, suggestions, or links to other websites/forums would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
