I want my VS2005 to use Sql Server 2005 standard edition and it won't work.
I was talking with someone and they told me that VB2005 standard can only use Sql 2005 Express edition but with some registry changes I could get it to work.
Is this true? If so does anyone know how to get it to use Sql 2005 Standard?

Thanks,

You mean you can't get it to work using the wizards. Because if you wrote your code the proper way then you would notice that it works as normal.

I don't know a solution to your problem, BUT I do know that VS2005 does work just fine with SQL2005. That is my current install on my PC as well as what version of SQL our two main SQL servers run. No problems from the initial install nor did I need to make any changes to anything to get them working together...

Well I guess it is unanimous, I messed up something up somewhere.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I will have to see where I went wrong.
