I am currently trying to convert a windows 2.6 foxpro application to vfp 6.0..

When I try to modify/convert a *.scx form, using the converter in vfp I click on the Visual eenvironment button turned on, I get "Error Loading File-record number 5 imglmage < or one of its members> Color source expression evaluated to an illegel value"..
I can't open the *.scx to make the necessary corrections.
Does anyone have nay suggestions/comments

Thank you in advance..

Jim

Take a copy of the screen/form (*.sct and *.scx). Open the *.scx file as a table. There should be a field called OBJNAME. You'll need to find the name of the object and delete it. In your example it looks like its the 5th record in the table. You'll then need to pack the table and it should open. You'll lose the object but if its only an image then you'll probably be able to re-insert it.

Instead of deleting the whole object, you might be able to open the Properties field for it and change the value of ColorSource or another property to a valid expression. If it's not there, try to add it in the format you see there for other properties. It used to work most of the times for me. If you cannot get it to work this way, you can always delete it later.

It should be noted that there are a number of objects that you can receive this error for so when using the Transfrm.app you will need tell it which classes of objects you want the rule to apply to...i would do shapes, images, optiongroups, and buttons to start with and then if you still have a screen that doesn't work then modify to suit. Here is another thread on this forum where this problem was addressed...
