Can someone please explain why one should learn VB 2005 instead of VB.net?
Are the two versions so different that they augment/ replace each other?

VC 2005 is .NET. It's just the newest version. VB2003 and 2001 are also .NET.

Than you
I assume you meant VB 2005 is .NET

btw - VB6 IDE will NOT load under Vista.5308

Hope they fix it in future version.

There were claims that the IDE used some of Microsoft's J++ technology. I find that incredible, but if so it can't be anything needing the JVM.

I wonder if the VB5 IDE works? Just out of curiosity.

Anyone with Vista betas have VB5CCE handy to try?

Thanks for the warning about Vista and VB6

I saw a write up on Microsofts site just this morning about VB6 and Vista. The way they were talking it's fixed. Maybe in the next update it'll work.

Thanks for the info.
Which update tho, Vist or VB?

There won't be any more updates to VB6, so he must have meant Vista.
