Hi,

Could anyone tell me if there is any additional software required for Visual Basic Applications programming -- would we need anything other than Office 2003?

I'm checking so I don't get confused with Visual Basic or VB scripting, because someone told me that all the programming in Visual Basic for Applications is carried out within the Visual Basic Editor, which comes with Office -- is this true?

Many thank
Sam

There is nothing else required for VBA.
The VisualBasicEditor is accessible from all Office programs via Tools>Macro>VisualBasicEditor (or Alt+F11).

Is it true?

Yes.

The Visual Basic Editor is very similar to the VBE you see in Visual Basic. The interesting thing is, Visual Basic (actual program itself) is built with VBA.
