I created a packaged application in WINDOWS XP and wrote the program to a CDR and gave it to two people to test out. One persons OS is W-95 and the other is W2000. The app is 4.1 meg. Both users say the program installed ok but that when they ran the application various text files did not display - they were created in WordPad and available from menue selections. Does the app have to be installed on another XP machine only? Any other thoughts? How else could I give them a copy of the program if they do not have VB-6.0?

You would probably get better results by posting this in the VB 5 & 6 forum.

Did you include those WRI files in your packaging wiz setup?

Get a hold of one of those CD-R disks. Look for a "Setup.lst" (or something similar to it). You should be able to 'read' it using NotePad...and check to see if they (.wri) were added/packaged in the setup's [Files] section.

Let us know if you re-direct this question to the VB5/6 forum.
