VISIO performance

I am trying to build a Data Model in VISIO. I have around 1000 tables to show relations. Will there be any performance issues with VISIO. How big data model we can build using VISIO without any performance issues.

I have revese engineered around 400 tables to build data model using VISIO reverse engineering option (ODBC). System became very slow.
