Hello,

I am in the process of generating a flowchart which allows people to track down the location of certain documents and open them. The locations of these files are distributed throughout a vast network and VISIO cannot support URLs with more than 124 characters.

Is there a way around this restriction without having to physically move these files closer to the VISIO file?

Please help! Thanks.

If your files are not too scattered, you may be able to go to File -> Properties, and on the Summary tab in the Hyperlink base field enter the first part of the hyperlink if it's identical for all your links. Then when you insert the hyperlink, use the relative path option.

Another option might be to create a Word document that contains the hyperlink, then just point your flowchart link to that document. Adds another step, but it will get them there.
