Hi,

I've got a user that if he doesn't have a visio.bin in his profile, then opens a viso document, visio creates the .bin file and he can work fine.

However, if he closes Visio and double clicks the same file, it crashes with:-

<----------------------------------------------------------

Anybody seen this or can point a way for me to ensure this user works ok?

Carl,

Total stab in the dark.

File associations ? Is the visio file assoc with the correct exe ? You could always try regmon and search for Aedebug and work back from that. If you disable drwats what does it do. (Probably just disappears)

As an aside

Have you just swapped voloview hell for Visio hell ?

Cheers
Scott

Hi,

If you go to the users profile and delete the visio.bin file, double click a visio drawing, it loads up and runs fine!

Once this file has been created, the second time you double click on the same visio drawing, visio crashes, follow the above procedure and hey presto!!! Repeatable problem!!!

It does look like they are attacking me with V products causing issues!

That's for that though Scott.

Cheers,
Carl.

From my experience of trying to run autocad-LT in various disguises I have discovered that newer versions are aware of TS and or citrix and crashes they say it breeches licensing etc. I can run it one time but no more. I am getting the issue with volowiew as well.
Have you an earlier version, that you could try ?
If I remember correctly Visio 2000 was OK .

Cheers
Scott

Hi Carl,

I just got Voloview to work.... had to do a rebuild tho.

twaas the old dcomcnfg default lanch permissions.

Also change some permissions in CLSID etc. Found the stuff on the autocad forum on here...

Funny when I followed the destructions it worked, pity I had no idea about the forum on here when trying the first time.

Cheers
Scott

Hi,

Thanks for that, I think I'll keep clear of it!

Go on holiday tomorrow night, don't think I'll leave my stand in with a crock of **** to contend with!

Cheers,
Carl.
