Virus Update - Unable to read from registry

Hello

I've tried to run a virus update on our NT server but I'm getting the error 'unable to read from registry'. I'm running a Total virus defense superdat executable downloaded from the internet. The file itself is ok because it's run on our mail server. Any help would be appreciated on this matter.
