Hi,

I've been having problems opening new anti-virus programs.
Could this be a virus?

I'm running Win95 and each program loaded has a different
error associated with it. So I tried a CD with a antivirus
program on it and it too would not load. I also attempted to
re-establish the original Antivirus and that too was blocked. I tried to download new antivirus software online and after the down load I got various error messages tool.

Can anyone answer any of the following;

How can I get around this with out reformating the disk?
Can I load the software on Dos.?
What kind of virus is it.

I can't scan it online for the following reasons;

Norton - does not support Win95 anymore
Mcaffe - online scan page will not load (tried all the help
solutions).
Panda - Loads software, but will not allow it to be
opened.

Can someone help me.

Even when I use Control Panel, I can't load the software either.

Please help me!

Maybe you need to try and run under a more simple environment (in DOS). It could prove to be an ideal second defence antivirus protection option.

Give F-Prot Antivirus for DOS (FREE for Home Users) a try:

F-Prot Antivirus for DOS will run under Windows 3.x, Windows 95, and 98.
