Someone in my office downloaded a virus. It sent copies of an e-mail to every address in his address book.
On the machine that downloaded the infected file, We are getting a message that says that the trkwrite.dll file isd missing.
Were can I find this file?
Any other news on this virus.
Thanks in advance for help with this matter.

Howdy:

First of all, why are you posting an obvious virus problem and question on the XP board?? You would get one heck of alotmore replies if you had posted it in the "General Virus" board like you should have..

The file in question is the Roxio (burner software) track Writer driver.. Not a virii at all..

Next, what happened to your anti-virus program that it didn't catch the virii right from the start??

Lastly, we need the name of the virus in order to help..

Sesask,

What "general virus" board are you talking about?

The DLL file in question is indeed a ROXIO track writer. You probably have Roxio project selector or direct cd starting with windows startup.
Just reinstall roxio and you'll be fine. As for the virus, you need to a good virus program on the pc's to detect these things when they come in through email. Then you will know the name of the virus and be able to combat it much easier.
