You've got several threads going with the issues around the sound card.
You've made an assumption that the sound card got a virus because the machine started working when you removed it.
When you get the total system back up and running without the sound you look in the device mangler to see what I/O and IRQs are available, then power down and install the card. The machine should reinstall it correctly using the available I/O addresses and IRQs. You will need to know what is available for use if you need to change anything.
The card may work, or the card may not work. If it won't and the system locks down with it installed, the probablility is something is fried. Won't be the first.
