Greetings!

On 56xx VPNRemote enabled telephones one can enter a "Virtual IP Address"...

Though I am able to get 96xx telephones to work via VPN, I am unable to find a setting for "Virtual IP Address" in the "VPN Settings" of 96xx telephones...

Is there a way to set a "Virtual IP Address" on a 96xx telephone? If not in the TUI perhaps in the 46xxsettings.txt file?

Thank you,
Mark

Is it not there when you scroll to the right ?

tlpeter,

Thank you for your reply.

The short answer to your question is: no.

More detail: When you scroll to the right 4 pages there is a "Protected Network" setting... but unlike the 56xx series phones it only has an entry for one remote network and no entry for "Virtual IP".

I am pretty sure I have seen it on 9650

tlpeter,

Well... that gives me hope.

However, I have checked 9630, 9640 and 9650 (all loaded with version S3.110b) and none have an option to enter a Virtual IP.

Could this perhaps be something that can be added via the 46xxsettings.txt file?

Is there an "SET VPNPROC 2" in the 46xxsettings.txt?

Bas1234,

Thank you for the inquiry. Anyway...

Yes "SET VPNPROC 2" is in the 46xxsettings.txt.

Follow-up: Tier 3 said that unless one of the supported third-party security gateways (Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Nortel) require the use of a Virtual IP they cannot excalate this to R&D.

So... this feature is not needed, but very helpful for our SonicWALL setups. Perhaps there is another way to ask Avaya to enable this feature thus giving the 9600 series phones more parity with the 5600 series phones.

Thanks all for responding.

They can't "escalate" it either ;-) !

I am going to check for you next week when i have the time.
I do not have the 9650 at the moment so can't look for it.
