VIrtual Desktop?

Hi all,

I'm looking for a virtual desktop application for Windows (using XP currently).

I know that there are a number of apps out there in the big wide world but I am after something that, if exists, will allow me to fool my laptop into thinking that it has a second screen and, thus, a second desktop.

The reason for this is entirely down to music performance, I'd like to have a 'second' screen with which I VNC using my iPhone.

If anyone has any ideas as to whether this is possible and, if so, what apps I should be looking into then I'd be very grateful.
