I don't know much about Avaya world and I find their terminology confusing. I need to upgrade the firmware on a line card (which Avaya calls circuit packs! Ugh...) Anyway, the instructions I have say that if the Medpro card has a vintage less than 22 then I need to use different instructions. I did a list config all and see "HW15 FW060" under vintage.

Which vintage are those instructions referring to? Do they mean the hardware vintage or the firmware?

Code:
  list configuration board 01a03

                              SYSTEM CONFIGURATION

Board Assigned Ports
Number Board Type Code Vintage u=unassigned t=tti p=psa

01A03 IP MEDIA PROCESSOR TN2302AP HW21 FW118 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08

Looking at the one in this post, it is hardware (which falls under the Vintage column) and the firmware version.

Okay. I wasn't sure. I'm using GEDI, so "HW15 FW060" are in the same Vintage column. If my instructions are referring to hardware vintage then I need to use a different set of instructions. If my current set of instructions are referring to firmware vintage then I can continue to use these instructions.

You have to load up the right firmware to go with the right vintage (HW). Thats what the Avaya site is saying.

Looking at yours, (same as I have) you need the latest firmware for vintage 22 or under to get the right firmware for your packs.

The instructions I have say that I need to use a different set of instructions if the vintage is less than 22. I'll assume that they're referring to hardware vintage and use the other instructions.

You got it. Look at the "read me" file before to make sure.
