I generated a new XML document using the Excel schema.
I then used the navigate function of the Microsoft Web Browser ActiveX object to open the XML.
This works great; however, when I close the form, the reference to the XML file remains (in typical Excel Open Document fashion), which means I can not open it again without an already open document error.
I have tried many things including assigning the webbrowser.document to an excel.workbook object.
I can cycle the object 100% displaying the worksheets within, etc. I can even track back on the parent to the application and cycle all the children from there. I have tried to use the marshall to delete the COM object, but it fails to take, even when I navigate to a different page. The application close does not seem to work.
I thought maybe the application close may not be completing? Does anyone know how I can wait for this sub to complete? Is there a state I can wait for?
I was successful by killing the excel.exe from the task manager; however, I don't want to do this as other excel apps could share the same excel servier object.
Does anyone know how to close something opened in excel that was kicked off from a web browser?
