viewing email attachments in their generic format

Hello,

I have a requirement that the attachments which were sent thru emails should be shown(opened) in their generic environment rather than in a browser.

I mean if i send a doc file as an attachment and when i click on the hyperlink, the respective file should open in the MS-Word environment instead of the doc file opening in a browser window.
