I own and love the game "Starcraft" made by Blizzard E. Latlely the game freezes on start. I didn't know what was wrong with it. I ran the game in safemode and it runs perfect, but I need the internet for this game to be any fun. So I open up msconfig, (not knowing what DNS and DHPC was) I disabled DNS and DHPC service. Starcraft worked fine. What in the.... It has nothing to do with starcraft because I have reinstalled the game, formatted my comp, and email bliz. What is going on?

CHeck your video drivers. There is a switch that needs to be added to the .exe. I had the same problem until I added the swtich. Now the game runs perfect. If you go into the tech support on the CD, you will find out which switch you need. Look up your video driver.

I know what I know and that's all I know.

I am not sure what you mean. What switch? what .exe? I have the lastest drivers for my Nvidia Geforce 4 ti4600.

I went to the starcraft.exe and clicked the "Run in 640 by 480, run in 256 colors"

The game now plays the videos, but it crashes when they end.

Sorry dude. I was thinking of Warcraft.

Good luck.
