when trying to import a 1 hour long video, the progres bar does not progress at all and nothing happens; I split the video into smaller clips, when I import a 6 minutes clip, it is imported but only a bit over 2 minutes- it is truncated. What could be the problem?

Are you capturing inside Premiere? If so, what version, what capture card (if any), what disk format (FAT/NTFS etc)?

FWIW, I much prefer to capture using Scenalyzer ( which gives all sorts of advantages over using Premiere. Try before buy confirms compatibility before you need to pay.

HI,

it was captured/saved with Windows movie maker. I find out that it creates type1 avi, while Adobe wants type 2. very weird from such a prestigious product not to issue a message about incorrect format at input - it simply truncates, or does not import at at all. Problem solved after losing a day with downlaoding software and trying all sorts of converstion progs. very frustrated! Thanks a lot for your help

Thanks for the feedback. WMM problem is very well known, hence my asking how you captured! Scenalyzer is so much better - give it a try.
