Windows XP factory install and worked fine for a year. Then my daughter started using some games and music downloads. Next thing I hear is computer will not function.

My first step was to use the Windows XP Repair installation. I was able to get that to work. But when she started computer the same problem came back. Two minutes into working with the system the video signal is lost.

Next I formatted the hard drive (pulled partition) and performed a clean fresh install of Windows XP. In both situations the repair as well as this install I was able to work with the computer for over three hours without problems.

Now that the fresh installed done, no other software has been installed at this point. She turns the computer on again and within two minutes the video signal is lost again.

I know the monitor is good as it works on another system. I know the video card is good as I was able to work for over three hours with it and no problems.

Any one have any idea what I do next? Any suggestions would be appreciated

Sounds like a driver issue. What type of Video Card do you have and what driver and level are you using?
