I just bought 2 VIC-2FXO modules (eBay...) for installation in a Cisco 1751V router. They are installed and recognised by the router and can be configured OK but I get an error message when I show or write the config:
.Feb 13 13:25:06194: %C1700-3-BAD_EEPROM_VERSION: The eeprom version field has an invalid entry ()
.Feb 13 13:25:06.198: %C1700-3-BAD_EEPROM_VERSION: The eeprom version field has an invalid entry ()
.Feb 13 13:25:06.202: %C1700-3-BAD_EEPROM_VERSION: The eeprom version field has an invalid entry ()
.Feb 13 13:25:06.206: %C1700-3-BAD_EEPROM_VERSION: The eeprom version field has an invalid entry ()
.Feb 13 13:25:06.214: %C1700-3-BAD_EEPROM_VERSION: The eeprom version field has an invalid entry ()
.Feb 13 13:25:06.218: %C1700-3-BAD_EEPROM_VERSION: The eeprom version field has an invalid )
Also if I type 'show diag' I get the following:
WIC/VIC Slot 1:
Dual FXO Voice Interface Card
Unknown EEPROM format!! 16
EEPROM format version 16
EEPROM contents (hex):
0x20: 10 0D 01 01 01 5A 3A EB 50 09 BF 01 00 00 00 00
0x30: A0 00 00 00 02 01 09 01 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
I have tried the CCO Output Interpreter and it says:
Explanation: A cookie has an invalid version number and could possibly be corrupt.
But says the recommended action 'Unavailable'. I assume the cards are missing some flash content - i.e. the hardware identifier that is coded into the flash?
Is there a way around this or should they be replaced?
Andy
