I have 2 Solaris 8 servers, 1 where sendmail is working and the other where it is not. Servers are similar.
I copied the sendmail.cf and sendmail start script from the server where sendmail is working and tried to sendmail from the server that is having problems. But I still continue to get the following error.
cat tt | mailx -v xxx@abc.com
# xxx@cdc.com... Connecting to mail.cdc.com. via esmtp...
Deferred: Connection timed out
On the server that works
when I enter
cat tt | mailx -v xxx@abc.com
(xxx@atl-10212-01s08-mgt:/home/xxx#>xxx@cdc.com... Connecting to normx1.nor.ver.com. via relay...
and the mail goes through.
Please note here it uses relay.
Please help with solving this problem.
Thanks in advance
