Hi,
Just started testing VFP9 and was very pleased that dockable windows are supported. I can't use it though. It seems that docked windows are always on top. I want to open "normal" forms (modal and modeless) from docked forms but then they appear in the background. I must have missed something. Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks,
Micael

I noticed the same thing with all the system windows which are dockable.

If you set all your windows to be "Dockable", then they should behave as you want. And, perhaps, in the "AfterDock" event of any window you don't want docked, just un-dock it.

Set your windows that you want to come up in front as Top Level forms or set Desktop property of them to .T. The trick is to get the form outside of the _screen object so it can come up in front of the _screen and the dockable forms or toolbars it may contain.

Hi,
Thanks for your hints. Making forms "desktop" seems to work fine. I noticed that the report preview window still appears in the background but I will play with the settings and try to figure out how to avoid this.

Again thanks,
Micael
