Hello There,

I have a requirement to produced several reports with carbonless paper on dot matrix printers (Panasonic KXP1180's). The report take forever to print. The printer head often takes multiple passes to print one line. The printer head also thrashes- moving forward and back as it prints each field across a report line. I've set the printer to draft mode already.

Is there a generic font (or any acceptable font) I can use that will allow the printer to print at a normal speed?
The 2nd mouse gets the cheese.

1. By the way you explain, I feel, the printer is getting into graphic mode. SO the head prints several times.
2. First get your report to a text file with command...
REPORT FORM myReportForm TO FILE myFile ASCII
Then send this report to your printer thru any text editor.. say WordPad or whatever.

This will give you an idea as to where the problem lies. If that prints faster, then your report is getting into graphic mode.

3, BY THE WAY have you tried the report head hacking.. If not follow my FAQ link...

I would recommend the same. You can send it directly to the LPT port with a dos command.
