I've noticed some behaviour by the VPF interface that I don't understand. If I have several program files open and minimize them, sometimes one or more of them will be minimized off the screen. It seems to still be open as I can restore it through the Windows menu selection but I can't see it to click on Restore.

How does VFP decide where to put the minimized file icons? How can I get one back on the screen?

TIA,
Shanachie

Shanachie,
If you mean the VFP developement environment windows, then these values are (mostly) stored in the FoxUser.dbf. If it gets corrupted or is 'shared' between multiple versions of VFP this can cause problems. Start by deleting this file (both the .DBF and .FPT). Also, if you change screen resolutions (e.g. 1280x1024 to 640x480) this can confuse VFP.

Probably what is happening is that the windows get minimized (become a small bar at the bottom of the VFP window) then a new toolbar appears (due to a new context.. say, now an edit window has focus) and the toolbar takes up some of the VFP screen real-estate: the screen gets shorter and everything on it moves down by the height of the new toolbar.
Since the minimized window icon/mini-bars are already at the very bottom, they move down, and off the visible screen.

If you hide all the visible toolbars, the icon/mini-bars should become visible again.
