VFP 8 Screen sizing problem

After I had a program crash VFP now opens maximized and cannot be sized at all.

When I doubleclick on the title bar or click the restore control box VFP minimizes.

Can someone help me get this fixed so that I don't have to reinstall?

Thanks!

Is it possible that your _screen's properties for Minheight and MinWidth have been set to a size that is large enough to prohibit you from resizing?

The first fix I tried was moving the foxuser.* files to another drive ( and rebooted).
I since restored them.
I now deleted them.
(I also checked for foxuser.* in the path and tried unchecking using foxuser.dbf resource file.)

Next I examined the _screen properties including:
o=_screen && I'm a (oxymoron) lazy programmer :)
?o.MinHeight && displays -1
o.Minwidth && displays -1

From the VFP help file I get that -1 is the default.
MaxHeight and Maxwidth are also -1

One other behavior that I have noticed is that if I use the "Restore Down" control box (Windows XP pro) VFP minimizes and the command window IS visible (I have Dockable selected.)

Still not working...

I have resolved the problem!

I tried restoring the VFP8 directory but that did not fix it.

So I started looking at the screen properties (again) and noticed that on the window menu you can get at the properties toolbox for "Screen"

I manually set the width and height to less so that I could size the window with the mouse.

After that, minimize and maximize and restore all work as they should.

Very strange.

Thanks again for your ideas!

Actually, I've found that the settings in the REGISTRY at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\VisualFoxPro\8.0\Desktop\ can be the problem / solution. Be especially aware of the values for Height, Width, Zoomed, Row and Column. When I'm testing and this may be a problem, I'll just save off a .REG file with the default settings, and then when they get messed up, I just "Merge" the right values back in before bringing up VFP again.
