One of my friends in the VFP team @ Microsoft told me that they getting ready for the release in just few weeks.
Yes VFP 7 has a native support for XML and a lot of new functions and enhancements for existing ones like Array functions for example, and more smooth connection to the office COM objects. Check the VFP web site for more details.

You should also check the FoxTalk site. I don't have the link handy, but you can do a search on Yahoo or Google and you'll find it.
